TVXQ (Duo) vs. JYJ

Well, here I am, there was something I just found out lately. It’s about TVXQ (I mean the five of them, not only HoMin). I was watching TVXQ HoMin and JYJ again recently, and after some time, I just realized that their existences for their fans are different. The difference I mean was not only on their performance on stage, but also on the daily life.

HoMin, as the duo TVXQ, they sang many of k-pop styles and dance genre, also they danced rather powerfully. As for the trio JYJ, they sang more of pop and ballad, and for Jaejoong more to Rock songs, and they had less dancing songs. So, just looking from the difference of their music style, we could assume that their stage performances were in different style either. HoMin, with their powerful dance, they would make the stage glowing and fascinating, just the sight that you could expect from a mega concert by a veteran singer. While JYJ, their concerts are fascinating as well, but it’s far from a description of glowing, when you could hear music blasting, you could see people dancing and jumping, and the fans were shouting out loud. JYJ were way much calmer than TVXQ HoMin concerts.

I will tell my opinion as a fan of both JYJ and HoMin. There, in HoMin concerts, I was really enjoying it so much, I was swooning by Yunho and Changmin’s HOT appearance, I was moving side to side while repeating the songs performed by them and of course I was squealing like a crazy fangirl whenever I saw HoMin’s powerful dance. I was totally amazed and adored them like they were Gods or something beyond that (well, considering their said group name, TVXQ ,“Five Gods Of The East”, I won’t be surprised). But, the feels was just like I could never reach them, like they were so glamorous and noble. They are so flawless that I would never notice their awful side. Their existences for me as one of their fan are like a flawless noble, who can’t be touched by a mere human like me. It’s not only the feel I got by watching their performance, but also when I read news about them, article about them and everything related to them. They are untouchable!  They are so close in my heart, as I adore them, yet so far away to reach.

Meanwhile, when I watched JYJ concerts and read news about them, article about them and anything related to them, I didn’t feel anything so glorious about them. What I felt was just respect. Their concepts of their stage performances were far from WILD. I could feel warm instead. Watching their performances didn’t make me swooning and squealing like a stupid fangirl, in fact, I was laughing a lot. As one of their fans, I think of them as a mere human just like me, it’s just their life path were different from me. They did mistakes as much I did; they also have many flaws that they spilled it out shamelessly. They are just like a bunch of three idiots for me. Junsu, who always so oblivious and being a ball of sunshine as he is, and Jaejoong who always flirtatious as usual and dorky and of course a weirdo, while Yoochun always become the lazy one among of them but has a calm aura around him.  Even though I enjoy mocking them as a bunch of fool, I couldn’t help but respect them a lot. I respect their talent in music, of how their songs are so magical, and their singing ability that are worth of a high praise. It’s like, they make me realize how far they are in reality, yet so close to actually reach them for they are just a mere human.

The differences that stand out now between JYJ and HoMin actually not a single one are their fault or their willing. It’s just that right now, JYJ are free to express themselves because their agency don’t have any right to interfere with their life, while HoMin  are still stuck under SM. Ent. HoMin are forced to have a noble appearance , no flaws, no mistakes, only words of perfection engulfed them. That’s why! After all, I’m still love them as they are.
